Turn an Email into Task
TL;DR: Forward any email to uku@getuku.email from your registered Uku email address, and Uku will automatically create a task with the email body and attachments.
Who can do this
Any Uku member whose email address matches the sender address of the forwarded email
The Email app must be active in your company's Settings & Apps (enabled by default)
How to convert an email into a task
Forward the relevant email to uku@getuku.email.
Uku automatically creates a new task assigned to the member account that matches the sender email address.
The task includes the full email body and any attachments.
The email address you forward from must match your Uku member account email. If the addresses do not match, no task will be created.
How to enable or disable the feature
The feature is enabled by default. To change this:
Open Settings & Apps from the main menu.
Open the Email app.
Toggle Create tasks from emails on or off.
Setting changes take immediate effect.
Frequently asked questions
Who gets the created task? The task is assigned to the Uku member whose email was used to forward the message.
Does it work if forwarded from a different address? No. The system checks that the sender address matches your Uku member account email. If they differ, no task will be created.
Can I turn this feature off? Yes. Go to the Email app settings in Uku and disable Create tasks from emails.
Example use cases
Forward client requests or new to-do items from your inbox directly to uku@getuku.email for seamless workflow integration.
Useful for teams handling tasks from multiple communication channels.
Troubleshooting
Task not created after forwarding: Confirm the sender email matches your Uku member account email and that the Create tasks from emails feature is enabled in the Email app.
Task assigned to the wrong member: Verify you are forwarding from your own email account, not through a shared mailbox or third-party alias.
Attachments missing from the task: Very large attachments may not be processed. Try reducing attachment size or uploading files directly to the task after creation.
