Client Portal in Uku's Elite Package

Who can do this

  • You must be on the Elite package subscription plan.

  • You need administrator permissions in your Uku account.

What is the Client Portal menu?

The Client Portal menu lets you add custom links to important resources such as Service Agreements, Pricing, Instructions, and Invoices. You define the menu structure, set the display order, and assign default links. You can also customize names and links for each client individually. Only menu items with defined links will appear in the Client Portal.

How to configure the Client Portal menu

  1. Open Settings from the main menu.

  2. Select the Client Portal app.

  3. Choose the Menu Links tab.

Managing menu items

From the Menu Links tab, you can control which icons and options are visible to the client:

  • To open a link in a new browser tab, activate the Open in new window toggle for that row.

  • To hide or show a menu item, click the visibility icon (eye-shaped) to toggle it on or off.

  • To change a menu item's icon, click the current icon and select a replacement.

  • To rename a menu item, click the name field and type a new label.

Reordering menu items

To rearrange the order of menu rows, hover over the drag handle (dots icon) on a row, then click and drag the row to a new position.

How to customize the menu for a specific client

You can override icons, names, and links on a per-client basis to reflect the specifics of your working relationship with that client.

  1. Navigate to Clients in the main menu.

  2. Select the client you want to customize.

  3. Click Edit on the client card.

  4. Locate the Client Portal section in the client data.

  5. Adjust the icons, names, and links as needed.

  6. Click Save to apply your changes.

Tip: Only rows with defined links will be displayed. If you leave a link empty for a particular client, that menu item will not appear in their portal.

How the menu appears to Uku users

Filled menu rows are automatically displayed on the client info bar. Clicking any row redirects the Uku user to the link that was configured for that client.

Troubleshooting

  • Menu items are not appearing in the Client Portal: Ensure each menu item has a valid link assigned. Items without links are automatically hidden.

  • Cannot access Client Portal settings: Verify that your account is on the Elite package and that you have administrator permissions.

  • Changes to a specific client are not saving: Make sure you click Save after editing the client card. Unsaved changes are discarded when you navigate away.

  • Links are opening in the same tab instead of a new one: Check that the Open in new window toggle is activated for that specific menu row.
