Member profile in Uku

TL;DR: Each Uku member can customize their profile with personal information, language preferences, time zone, and regional formatting. You can also choose which email notifications to receive, including daily agendas, weekly summaries, and time entry lock reminders.

Who can do this

  • Any Uku member can edit their own profile

  • Profile settings are personal and do not affect other team members

Accessing the profile

  1. Click the Profile menu.

  2. Click Edit Settings to open the profile editor.

Setting up the profile

In the profile settings view, you can update the following personal information:

  • First and last name — Enter your full name.

  • Profile photo — Upload a profile picture.

  • Country and city — Select your location.

  • Phone number — Add your contact number.

  • Preferred language — Choose the language for Uku's notifications and interface.

  • Date of birth — Enter your birth date.

  • Time zone — Set the time zone you are located in.

  • Regional formatting — Define how dates and times are displayed (e.g., EE, UK, US formats).

  • Default company — If you work with multiple companies, set which company is shown by default.

  • Title — Enter your job title (e.g., accountant, consultant).

Notification settings

In the Notification settings area of your profile, you can choose which system notifications you receive by email:

  • Daily agenda — A daily summary of active tasks displayed on your Uku dashboard.

  • Unread notifications — Information about notifications you have not opened yet. This email is sent at 15:00.

  • Tasks assigned to me — Updates about new tasks assigned to you. Notifications are sent only if you have not previously clicked on the task or notification.

  • Weekly summary — A brief overview of the tasks and activities you completed during the past week.

  • Monthly summary — A brief overview of the tasks and activities you completed during the past month.

  • Time entries about to lock — A notification when time entries are about to be locked (sent either weekly or monthly depending on your settings). You can choose to receive this notification within Uku, by email, or both.

Tip: Enable the Time entries about to lock notification to avoid missing the deadline for editing your time records.

Troubleshooting

  • Profile changes are not saving — Make sure you click Save after making changes. If the issue persists, try refreshing the page and re-entering your changes.

  • Not receiving email notifications — Check that the relevant notification toggles are enabled in your Notification settings. Also verify that Uku emails are not being filtered to your spam folder.

  • Time zone or date format appears incorrect — Update your Time zone and Regional formatting settings in your profile. Changes take effect immediately across the Uku interface.

  • Profile photo not uploading — Ensure your image file is in a supported format (JPG, PNG) and is not too large. Try a smaller file size if the upload fails.
