How to reactivate an inactive member in Uku
TL;DR: You cannot switch an inactive member back to active directly. Instead, add them as a new member using their original email address, and they will receive a fresh invitation to rejoin your company's Uku account.
Who can do this
Only Owners and Admins can add new members, deactivate existing members, and manage member roles and permissions.
If you are a regular User and do not see member management options, contact your company Owner or Admin for assistance.
How to restore access for an inactive member
Step 1: Navigate to the Members section
Open Uku and select Members from the main menu.
You will see a list of all active members.
Step 2: Add the member as a new user
Since you cannot change the status of an inactive member, you need to add them again:
Click the Add member button.
Enter the person's email address (use the same email they had before).
Fill in their details:
First name
Last name
Role (User, Admin, or Owner)
Click Send invitation.
Step 3: Member receives invitation
The person will receive an invitation email to join your Uku company. They need to:
Open the invitation email.
Click the activation link.
Complete the sign-up process (even if they were a member before).
Important: The reactivated member account will not automatically have access to their previous clients or tasks. You will need to manually reassign client access and adjust any task assignments.
Troubleshooting
The invitation email was not received β Ask the member to check their spam or junk folder. If the email still does not appear, verify that you entered the correct email address and try resending the invitation.
"Email already in use" error when adding the member β This may occur if the previous account was not fully deactivated. Contact Uku support to resolve the conflict.
Reactivated member cannot see their old clients or tasks β Client access and task assignments are not restored automatically. An Owner or Admin must manually reassign clients and tasks to the new member account.
You do not see the Add member button β Only Owners and Admins have permission to add members. Contact your company Owner or Admin if you need this done.
