How to delete a client
TL;DR: Account owners can permanently delete a client from Uku, which removes all associated jobs, tasks, documents, and time-log history. Consider deactivating instead if you want to preserve historical data.
Who can do this
Only the account owner can delete clients
Administrators and users can only deactivate clients (not delete them)
Warning: Deleting a client permanently removes all associated jobs, tasks, documents, and time-log history. This action cannot be undone. If you want to keep historical data, consider deactivating the client instead.
Steps to delete a client
Select Clients from the main menu.
Select the client you want to delete to open their profile.
Click the pencil icon to edit the client profile.
Navigate to the Delete client option within the edit view.
Click Delete client.
A confirmation message will appear asking you to confirm the deletion, including a summary of what will be removed (jobs, tasks, documents, etc.).
Confirm the deletion to proceed.
Troubleshooting
No Delete client option visible β Only the account owner can delete clients. If you have admin or user permissions, you can only deactivate the client by changing their status to Inactive.
Want to recover a deleted client β Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you need to preserve client data for future reference, deactivate the client instead of deleting.
Not sure whether to delete or deactivate β Deactivation keeps all historical data (time logs, reports) but hides the client from active views. Deletion permanently removes everything. Choose deactivation if there is any chance you may need the data later.
