When to use a Credit Note

Customize the Credit Note prefix
If the default Credit Note prefix does not suit your needs, you can change it in billing settings:
Navigate to Settings from the main menu.
Open Billing.
Select Settings.
Update the Credit Note Prefix field to your preferred format.
Save your changes.
Tip: The Credit Note prefix applies to all future credit notes. Existing credit notes retain the prefix they were created with.
Troubleshooting
Credit Note option is not visible in the three-dot menu: Verify that you have billing permissions. If the invoice has already been credited, the option may be hidden. Check whether a credit note already exists for the invoice.
Credit Note has the wrong prefix: The prefix is set at creation time. To use a different prefix, update it in Settings > Billing > Settings before generating the next credit note. Existing credit notes cannot be changed.
Cannot find the invoice to credit: Use the search and filter options in the Billing section to locate the invoice. You can also access it through the client's Billing tab on their Client Card.
