Who can do this

  • Any user with an existing Solo account can create a company account and request migration.

Why You Cannot Move Data Yourself

Uku's personal (Solo) and company accounts are separate systems by design. This separation protects data integrity and ensures proper permission controls for team environments. While you cannot move clients between accounts directly, the Uku technical team has the tools to transfer your data safely.

What gets migrated:

  • Clients and contacts

  • Tasks and task plans

  • Time entries and history

  • Documents and notes

  • Custom fields data

Create Your Company Account

Before requesting migration, set up your new paid account:

  1. Go to Profile > Add company account.

  2. Enter your company name and details.

  3. Complete the 14-day free trial setup or add payment details immediately.

  4. Confirm your plan (Team or Enterprise).

Use the same email address that is linked to your Solo account. This makes the migration process smoother.

Contact Uku Support

Once your company account is active:

  1. Open the chat widget in Uku.

  2. Request data migration from your Solo account.

  3. Provide your company account name for confirmation.

Example message: "Hi, I've created a paid company account under [Company Name]. Could you please migrate my data from my Solo account to the new company account?"

Wait for Confirmation

The Uku technical team handles migrations during business hours. Here is what to expect:

  • Typical timeline: 1-4 hours during business hours.

  • Notification: You will be notified via the same chat conversation.

  • Your Solo account: Remains accessible (now empty) after migration.

You do not need to do anything while the migration is in progress. The support team will confirm when it is complete.

Verify Your Data

After receiving confirmation:

  1. Switch to your company account using the account selector.

  2. Go to Clients and verify all clients transferred correctly.

  3. Open a few client profiles and check that tasks and history are intact.

  4. Review Reports and confirm time entries migrated.

What Happens to Your Solo Account

Your Solo account remains active but will be empty after migration. You can:

  • Keep it as a backup or for personal projects.

  • Delete it via Profile > Delete account.

The Solo account will not interfere with your company account operations.

After Migration: Next Steps

With your data now in a company account, you can:

  1. Invite team members -- Go to Settings & Apps > Members > Add members.

  2. Set up billing -- Go to Settings & Apps > Billing > Activate.

  3. Configure integrations -- Connect your accounting software.

  4. Create company templates -- Build standardized task plans for clients.

  • Migration has taken longer than 4 hours with no update. Send a follow-up message in the same chat conversation where you requested the migration. If chat is unavailable, email uku@getuku.com with your company account name.

  • Some clients or time entries are missing after migration. Contact Uku support immediately via chat. The team can verify the migration status and re-transfer any missing data.

  • You cannot switch to your new company account. Select the account selector and look for your company account name. If it does not appear, log out and log back in with the same email address you used to create the company account.
