Forgot to stop the timer? Here's how to fix it quickly

If your Uku timer has been running longer than intended, you can stop it, then edit or replace the time entry to reflect the actual time worked. Uku also sends an email alert after 8 hours of continuous tracking.

Who can do this

  • Any Uku user who tracks time on tasks

  • The Daily agenda toggle must be active in your profile settings to receive the 8-hour email notification

How Uku notifies you

If the timer has been running continuously for more than 8 hours, Uku sends an email notification to alert you.

To receive these notifications, the Daily agenda toggle must be active. Go to Settings, then Profile, click Edit, and activate the Daily agenda toggle.

Stop the timer

You can pause the timer using either of these methods:

  • Find the active timer in the toolbar and click it to stop tracking.

  • Open the task where time is being tracked and click the timer icon to pause it.

Edit the logged time

  1. Click on the total time logged displayed on the task to open the time entries window.

  2. Find the incorrect time entry and click on it.

  3. Update any of the following fields (all are clickable and editable):

    • Start time

    • End time

    • Duration

  4. Save your changes.

Delete and recreate the entry

If you prefer to start fresh rather than editing:

  1. Click the three-dot menu on the incorrect time entry.

  2. Select Delete.

  3. Create a new time entry with the correct start time, end time, and duration.

  4. Confirm your changes by clicking the blue checkmark.

Troubleshooting

  • Did not receive the 8-hour email notification: Check that the Daily agenda toggle is active in your profile settings. Go to Settings > Profile > Edit and verify the toggle is turned on.

  • Cannot find the running timer: Look for the active timer indicator in the toolbar. If you have multiple tasks, the timer runs on the most recently started one.

  • Time entry cannot be edited: The time entry may be locked by an administrator. Contact your account admin to unlock the entry or adjust it on your behalf.

  • Accidentally deleted the wrong time entry: Deleted time entries cannot be recovered. Create a new entry with the correct details to replace it.
