How to change the order of tasks on the dashboard

TL;DR: Open the Calendar view and drag tasks to rearrange their order. After refreshing the page, the new order is reflected on the Dashboard.

Who can do this

  • Any team member who has tasks assigned on their dashboard

Why reorder tasks

Organizing your tasks before starting work helps you prioritize and work more efficiently. Uku lets you set a custom task order using the Calendar view, which then carries over to your Dashboard.

Reorder tasks using the Calendar

  1. Open the Calendar view. You can do this by selecting Calendar from the main menu, or by clicking the date displayed next to the calendar icon on the Dashboard.

  2. Locate the tasks you want to reorder.

  3. Drag a task to the desired position. A dotted-line placeholder indicates where the task will be placed.

  4. Release the task to drop it into the new position.

  5. Repeat for any other tasks you want to reorder.

  6. Refresh the page to see the updated order on the Dashboard.

Important: Delayed (overdue) tasks always appear first on the Dashboard, regardless of your custom order. You cannot reorder delayed tasks below non-delayed ones.

Troubleshooting

  • Task order on the Dashboard did not change: Make sure to refresh the page after rearranging tasks in the Calendar view. The Dashboard reflects the new order only after a page refresh.

  • Cannot drag tasks in the Calendar: Ensure you are clicking and holding on the task item itself. If drag-and-drop is unresponsive, try using a different browser or clearing your browser cache.

  • Delayed tasks keep appearing first: This is expected behavior. Overdue tasks are always prioritized and displayed first on the Dashboard. Complete or reschedule delayed tasks to move them out of the priority position.
