Use Uku on your phone – save it to your Home Screen

TL;DR: You can use Uku on your mobile phone by saving it to your Home Screen as a web app shortcut, giving you quick access to time tracking and tasks from any device.

Who can do this

  • Any Uku user with an active account

  • Requires a mobile browser (Safari on iOS or Chrome on Android)

Easy Time Tracking at Your Hands at All Times

To use a mobile version of Uku, save it to your phone's Home Screen and the program is easily accessible. Depending on your operating system and browser, follow the steps below.

iOS with Safari

  1. Open Safari and navigate to the Uku web app.

  2. Tap the Share button in the Safari toolbar.

  3. Select Add to Home Screen from the share menu.

  4. Tap Add to confirm.

Uku now appears as an icon on your Home Screen.

Android with Chrome

  1. Open Chrome and navigate to the Uku web app.

  2. Tap the three-dot menu in the Chrome toolbar.

  3. Select Add to Home Screen.

  4. Confirm the shortcut name and tap Add.

The Uku shortcut is now available on your Home Screen.

Troubleshooting

  • The "Add to Home Screen" option does not appear in Safari. Make sure you are using Safari and not a browser opened from within another app (such as a link opened from Mail or Slack). The option is only available in the standalone Safari browser.

  • The Home Screen shortcut opens a blank page. Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Uku requires an active connection to load. Try removing the shortcut and adding it again.

  • The shortcut disappears after a phone update. Some OS updates may remove web app shortcuts. Re-add Uku to your Home Screen following the steps above.
