Deleting and archiving products

Company Owners and Company Admins can delete and archive products. Company Admins’ product access comes from the Products team permission (granted to the Administrators team by default); if it’s removed, only the Company Owner can delete or archive products. See Members and Teams permissions.

You can permanently delete a product only if it is not included in any contract.

  1. Open Settings & Apps > Billing > Setup > Articles.
  2. Click the product you want to delete.
  3. Click Delete and confirm when prompted.

If a product is used in one or more contracts, Uku will not allow permanent deletion. Instead, Uku offers to archive it.

  1. Open the product in Settings & Apps > Billing > Setup > Articles.
  2. When Uku warns that the product is in use and cannot be deleted, click Archive.

Archiving is non-destructive. The product’s data remains intact in all existing contracts and historical records. The product is removed from active selection dropdowns so it cannot be added to new contracts.

  1. Open the archived product in Settings & Apps > Billing > Setup > Articles (you may need to filter or search for archived items).
  2. Click Restore.

The product is used in one or more contracts. Use Archive instead to remove it from active use while keeping contract data intact.

Only Company Owners and Company Admins can delete or archive products. Check whether the Products permission is still granted (it’s on the Administrators team by default); if it was removed, only the Company Owner can manage products. See Members and Teams permissions.

Archived products are hidden from the active product list. Look for an archived/inactive filter in the Articles section to find and restore them.
