Client Portal overview

The Client Portal gives your clients a shared workspace to:

  • View tasks assigned to them and complete checklist items
  • Upload documents directly to the relevant task
  • Sign documents electronically (eSignatures — Elite plan)
  • Send messages and requests to your team
  • View their invoices (if billing is enabled)

Each client sees only their own data. Nothing from other clients is ever visible.

There is no password. Clients log in using a magic link — a secure one-click link sent to their email address. Magic links are valid for 7 days. When a client’s link expires, they request a new one from the login screen.

You grant portal access per contact. When a contact has access enabled, they can log in to the portal for your company. Granular per-permission control (read, edit, document access) is in development — currently a single Access enabled grant gives the contact everything they need.

When a client logs in to the portal, they see:

  • Signing requests — documents waiting for their electronic signature (if eSignatures is enabled)
  • Tasks to do — active tasks your team has assigned to them
  • Completed — finished tasks for reference
  • A Send a request field to start new conversations with your team
  1. Enable the Client Portal — Settings & Apps > Client Portal. Set your subdomain and optionally customize branding.
  2. Grant access to contacts — on the client page, open a contact and enable portal access.
  3. Share tasks via the portal — on any task, click the Client Portal button to make it visible to portal assignees.
  4. Let the client log in — they receive a magic link and see their tasks immediately.
