Connect Google Calendar via Zapier

  • Available on the Elite plan only.
  • Connecting integrations in Uku requires Company Admin or Company Owner role.
  • You also need a Google account with access to the target Google Calendar, and a Zapier account.

Uku’s calendar is task-based: it shows tasks scheduled for a date, not standalone calendar events. Because Uku tasks and Google Calendar events have fundamentally different data structures, a full two-way sync — where a Google Calendar event automatically creates or updates a task in Uku and vice versa — is not currently supported.

What you can do is build a one-way Zapier automation that pushes data from Uku into Google Calendar — for example, “when a task is created or updated in Uku, an event is created in Google Calendar”.

  1. In Uku, go to Settings & Apps > Integrations.
  2. Click Connect with Zapier. You will be redirected to Zapier.
  3. In Zapier, create a new Zap:
    • Set Uku as the Trigger app and choose the event — for example, New Task or Task Updated.
    • Set Google Calendar as the Action app and choose Create Event.
  4. Map the Uku task fields (title, due date, assignee, client, topic) to the corresponding Google Calendar event fields. Google Calendar requires Title and Start date/time at minimum.
  5. Use Zapier’s Test button to confirm the Zap works, then turn it on.

For ready-made Uku ↔ Google Calendar Zap templates, see zapier.com/apps/google-calendar/integrations/uku.

Zapier is available on the Elite plan only. If you are on the Team plan, the option will not be visible. Contact the Uku team about upgrading.

The Zap triggers but no event is created in Google Calendar

Section titled “The Zap triggers but no event is created in Google Calendar”

Check that your Google Calendar account is correctly connected in Zapier under My Apps > Google Calendar. Also verify the correct target calendar is selected in the Action step, and review the Zap run history to confirm the trigger fired and the action returned a success status.

Events appear in Google Calendar but task data is missing or incorrect

Section titled “Events appear in Google Calendar but task data is missing or incorrect”

Review the field mapping in your Zap. Confirm the required Google Calendar fields — especially Title and Start date/time — are mapped to non-empty Uku task fields. If a task is created without a due date, the Zap may run but produce a calendar event without a useful start time.

I want events created in Google Calendar to appear automatically in Uku

Section titled “I want events created in Google Calendar to appear automatically in Uku”

This direction (Google Calendar → Uku) is not supported. Uku does not ingest external calendar events — its calendar is task-based, and the underlying data model is incompatible with standard calendar event objects. Create the work in Uku as a task, and let the Zap propagate it outward to your calendar.
