Accept your invitation to join Uku
Who this is for
Section titled “Who this is for”- New Company Members invited to an existing Uku account by their firm’s Company Owner or Company Admin.
- This is not for external Client Portal users — those use a separate magic-link flow on a different URL.
What you will need
Section titled “What you will need”- The invitation email from your firm (sent from
noreply@getuku.comor your firm’s configured sender). - A password you will use to sign in (or a Google or Microsoft account you can authenticate with).
- The web browser you intend to use day-to-day. Uku works best on the latest Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari.
Accept the invitation
Section titled “Accept the invitation”- Open the invitation email. The subject usually reads similar to “Welcome to Uku” and is addressed to the email your firm used to invite you.
- Click Join Uku (or the equivalent button in the email body). The link opens Uku’s account-setup page in your browser.
- Choose how you will sign in:
- Email and password — confirm your email is correct, then enter and confirm a password (minimum 8 characters with letters and numbers).
- Continue with Google — authenticate with the Google account that matches your invited email address.
- Continue with Microsoft — authenticate with your Microsoft work or school account.
- Fill in any required profile fields shown on the welcome screen — at minimum your First name and Last name.
- Click Finish (or the equivalent confirm button).
You are signed in and Uku takes you to the dashboard for your firm.
After signing in
Section titled “After signing in”The first thing you see is your firm’s Dashboard — your home screen with tasks, deadlines, and recent activity. From the left sidebar you can reach:
- Dashboard — your daily task list.
- Calendar — a calendar view of your tasks.
- Profile — your personal settings, notification preferences, and security options.
Take a minute to open Profile and check that your name and contact details are correct, then explore the sidebar. For a tour of every section, see Navigate Uku. For the language used across the help center, see Uku basic concepts and glossary.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”My invitation link does not work or says “expired”
Section titled “My invitation link does not work or says “expired””Invitation links are single-use and have a limited lifetime. If you click the link a second time after already accepting it, or if the link sat in your inbox too long, you will get an error. Ask your firm’s Company Owner or Company Admin to Resend invitation from Settings & Apps → Members — that issues a fresh, valid link.
I never received the invitation email
Section titled “I never received the invitation email”Check your spam, junk, and “Promotions” folders. If you have a strict corporate spam filter, ask IT to allow mail from getuku.com. If the email is genuinely missing, ask your Company Owner or Company Admin to resend it from Settings & Apps → Members, and confirm they typed your email address correctly when inviting you.
The link opens but my email field is wrong or pre-filled with someone else’s address
Section titled “The link opens but my email field is wrong or pre-filled with someone else’s address”Do not change the email on the setup page — the invitation is bound to a specific address. If the address shown is not yours, the invitation was likely sent to the wrong email. Ask your firm to delete the pending invitation and re-send it to your correct address.
I am asked for a company subdomain or URL
Section titled “I am asked for a company subdomain or URL”Each Uku company has its own URL of the form <companyname>.uku.app. The invitation link includes this automatically, so you should not need to type it manually. If you do hit a “Which company?” page, paste the firm-specific URL from the invitation email — your Company Admin can also share it with you.
I am a Client Portal user, not a team member
Section titled “I am a Client Portal user, not a team member”Client Portal users do not use this invitation flow. Your firm sends you a magic-link email each time you need to sign in, and you only see the portal — not the firm’s full Uku. If you got here by mistake, contact the firm and they will send you a Client Portal invitation instead.
