What's New

October 2026

October connects Uku more closely to the systems your firm already uses. Scoro and Directo now work the way your books are set up. Client Portal links can open each client’s own page in your other tools, and your invoice emails look the way you choose.

Until now, Uku could only send invoices to Scoro. The Scoro app now works in both directions: your Scoro lists and clients come into Uku, and payment status comes back.

Why? Every code typed by hand is a code that can differ from Scoro. One wrong VAT code stops an export at month-end.

What is new:

  • Import your Scoro lists — VAT codes, products and accounting objects come into Uku in one click. Codes you already typed are linked, never doubled.
  • Import your Scoro clients — through the usual import review, so nothing arrives without your check.
  • The right Scoro company, every time — Uku finds the client by its link, name, registry code or VAT number.
  • Payment status back from Scoro — an invoice paid in Scoro turns paid in Uku.

Worth knowing: firms already exporting to Scoro keep exactly the behaviour they had.

Getting started: Connect Scoro to Uku

Every Directo firm keeps its books a little differently. The Directo app’s Settings tab now decides what Uku sends with each invoice and each new customer card.

Why? When Uku sends a value your Directo setup does not expect, someone corrects the invoice in Directo by hand, every month.

What is new:

  • Invoice export — choose where the VAT zone, payer name, object and salesman come from, or let Directo fill them.
  • Parent-company invoices — Directo can show which sub-company ordered the work.
  • Customer code for new clients — the client’s registry code or its Uku Client code.
  • XML preview — see exactly what Uku would send before you save a setting.

Worth knowing: every default keeps the export as it was, so nothing changes until you change a setting.

Getting started: Choose how invoices are exported

Section titled “3. Client Portal: one link, each client’s own page”

A Client Portal menu link can now carry a value from each client, for example their company number. One link serves every client, and each client opens their own page.

Why? Firms link the portal to other tools: a reporting site, a payroll system, a booking page. Before, a link meant the same page for everyone, or a separate link on every client.

Example: the link https://reports.example.com/{client.reg_code} takes a client with the company number 12345678 to their own report page.

Worth knowing: a client whose value is empty does not see the link.

Getting started: Give each client their own link

4. Invoice emails: the summary box is your choice

Section titled “4. Invoice emails: the summary box is your choice”

The summary box under invoice and reminder emails is now a placeholder, Invoice summary. Keep it, move it, or delete it.

Why? Some firms want their client to get only their own text and the attached PDF. Until now, no template could remove the box.

Worth knowing: if your firm already had its own email text, Uku added the placeholder at the end. Your emails look exactly as before until you edit them.

Task titles and emails can now show the month’s name, not only its number.

Why? “VAT April” reads better than “VAT 04”, for your team and for your clients.

Example: a monthly task titled VAT {last_month_name} becomes “VAT April” in May.

Worth knowing: placeholders now also work with single braces, {client_name}, which is easier to type. Texts with double braces keep working.

Getting started: Placeholders

6. Documents: tidy every client’s folders at once

Section titled “6. Documents: tidy every client’s folders at once”

The Documents app has a new Maintenance tab. After you change a folder template or the folder naming rule, the tab brings every client in line in one go.

Why? Fixing older clients one by one does not work past a handful of clients.

What is new:

  • Organize files — files that sit in no folder are filed under Private, by year and month.
  • Create missing client folders — the folders appear on your connected drive for clients that do not have them yet.
  • Rename client folders — folder names follow your new rule, in Uku and on the drive.

Worth knowing: no file is ever deleted. A large firm’s job can take a few hours, so start it and come back later.

Getting started: Bring every client up to date

  • Your client can drop a whole year of receipts at once. The portal uploads a few at a time and stays fast for everyone else.
  • Each file uploaded in the Client Portal can be up to 32 MB.
  • Set a task’s dependency while you create the task. Before, you had to save the task and reopen it first.
  • Members who approve vacations can now export the vacation list.
  • The vacation export now follows the filters on the Vacations tab.
  • A member you switch on is added to your firm’s own client automatically.

  • Pushing template changes to clients no longer clears the due dates of existing tasks.
  • Tasks assigned to All users are visible to members who joined later.
  • A new task with a topic and no client is saved for the firm, with its topic, not in your private to-do list.
  • A declined vacation no longer blocks the same dates from a new request.
  • Uploading client workflow and project templates works again.
  • An automation email to a contact role reaches every contact who has an email address.
  • Merit Aktiva Import lists no longer creates duplicate projects, cost centres and units.
